Watch the Ferrari 488 Pista take ‘Top Gear’s’ lap record

Our man Robin Warner drove the car first in Italy. Loved it, obviously. And we just had a Pista in the fleet for a few short days for our at-least thrice-summerly Cars in Corktown event in downtown Detroit. Thankfully I was able to take the car home for the night, and since the in-town drive review will come from our own Graham Kozak, I’ll give you my thoughts now.
First, I think the 488 Pista looks better than the McLaren 720S, one of its few natural predators in the wild. Performance-wise, they are so close it makes no difference unless you’re a trained (or tame) racing driver. They both deliver 710 hp AND 568 lb-ft of torque. They both have seven-speed dual-clutch transmissions and they both weigh about 3,200 pounds when filled with fluids and ready to run.
